Thomas Barber

Business Development Consultant

Thomas began his career in financial services in 2000. Thomas recently transitioned to a consulting role, having formerly been Magnus’ Chief Marketing and Chief Business Development Officer since the company launch in 2017. Before joining Magnus, he worked as Director of Business Development for Pioneer Financial operating within the Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company.

Thomas founded Thomas Kelly LLC a project finance & business advisory in 2006. The business helps business owners and real estate developers secure capital through nontraditional debt structures with a primary focus on preserving client equity. Thomas is relied upon by a network of advisors throughout the country for his advanced tax planning knowledge. He applies a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex tax problems and is the architect of a variety of esoteric planning strategies which combine advanced planning solutions to mitigate tax, optimize enterprise value and enhance asset protection.

Thomas is also a Founding Member of Advisors Equity Group, an innovative equity-owned think tank made up of financial service professionals and centers of influence from around the world. He is a Legacy Member of the National Association of Cash Flow Advisors (NACFA). He holds his Life, Accident & Health Insurance license and is actively working on his Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and Certified Digital Asset Advisor (CDAA) credentials. Thomas also serves as an outside Advisor to Trust-CFO, Parkhill Advisory Group and Liquid Rarity Exchange (LRE). LRE owns a family of patents which allow them to offer SEC and FINRA compliant private and public offerings and secondary trading to investors of fractional rarity interests.

Thomas grew up on Eastern Long Island. He graduated from Cornell University having earned a Bachelor of Science in Design & Environmental Analysis. While there he balanced his time between academics and athletics, playing linebacker on the varsity football team and a member of the Sphinx Head Society. Thomas resides in Westchester County, New York with his partner Jennifer and their two children.
